“To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift.” —Steve Prefontaine
#Faithbuilders come in all shapes and sizes, some are individuals and some are a collective group working for a greater purpose. If focusing on a healthier lifestyle and getting into better shape, physically and soulfully, was one of your New Year’s goals, Camp Gladiator might be what you are looking for to take it to the next level.
Founded by former Austinite, Ally Davidson, Camp Gladiator’s mission is to positively impact the physical fitness and ultimately the lives of as many people as possible. One of the foundational principles through how CG works to achieve that is their primary purpose: to honor God and serve others. Through their dedication to positive life change and transformation, CG provides a reinforcing and reinvigorating space to help individuals grow and develop into their best selves. They aren’t providing a gym, a club, or a camp, but a community together in honoring one of God’s gifts to us- our bodies.
Ally Davidson might sound familiar if you are a fan of the hit NBC “American Gladiators”, which she became champion of (and also tried out for on her wedding day, just hours before the ceremony!). Throughout her life, Ally has endured significant high-pressure situations, but she has always been a champion of God’s presence in her life when interviewed. To learn more about her life story and how she came to create Camp Gladiator, check out this interview with Austin 360 about how Ally has the “soul of a gladiator”.
Camp Gladiator is not only a great community to be a part of, but it has the integrity and positive culture towards its employees and trainers too. A local CG trainer, Grace, has been a part of Austin’s CG network and has absolutely loved being a part of Camp Gladiator and seeing the impact she is able to have on her campers. “You always hear about employees disliking their bosses, but how could you with a company and leaders that exemplify Christ-like values and morals?,” said Grace, as she was getting ready to meet her class at Dawson Elementary near downtown Austin, “Our number one goal is to positively impact lives and it’s awesome to actually see a company live that out.”
