All This
“He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities.” Psalm 103:10 (ESV)
Have you ever stopped to look at your life and think, “Wow… God has given me all this”?
Not just the obvious blessings like food on the table, a roof overhead, or people who love you—though those are incredible. I’m talking about all the ways God shows up through the darkest valleys, the times when hope felt thin, the moments you didn’t know if you could take another step… and yet, here you are. Still standing. Still breathing.
That’s not chance. It’s God’s mercy.
His Mercies Never End
Lamentations 3:22–23 says it so simply: “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”
Think about that for a moment. God’s mercy doesn’t have an expiration date. It doesn’t run dry because you had a bad day or messed up again. Every morning when you wake up, before your feet hit the floor, His mercy has already been poured out for you—fresh and full, like the sunrise.
That means on the days when everything falls apart, when the news is hard, when people disappoint you, or when life takes a turn you didn’t see coming… His mercy is there. Still holding you. Still carrying you.
That’s what all this means. It’s not just the good times. It’s God being faithful in every season, even when you don’t deserve it, even when you can’t see the whole picture yet.
Through the Valleys
Psalm 23:4 has comforted believers for generations: “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”
Notice the word through. We don’t camp in the valley. We don’t stay there forever. God brings us through it.
Sometimes the valley looks like a diagnosis.
Sometimes it’s a broken relationship.
Sometimes it’s worry over a child, or a job loss, or a season of deep loneliness.
But no matter how dark the valley feels, God promises His presence and His guidance. His rod and staff—the tools a shepherd used to guide and protect—are with us the whole way.
That’s why generations of believers can look back and say, “He gave us all this.” Not just the blessings, but the strength to keep walking when life was hard.
Blessings We Don’t Deserve
One of our favorite verses is Psalm 103:10: “He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities.”
Isn’t that the truth? If God gave me only what I deserved, I wouldn’t have much to talk about today. But because of Jesus, because of the cross, we live under the covering of grace.
And it doesn’t stop with forgiveness. Psalm 103 goes on to say: “… who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.” (Psalm 103:4–5)
That’s all this. A life rescued. A heart restored. A table set with blessings we didn’t earn.
From Generation to Generation
Psalm 145:13 reminds us: “The Lord is faithful in all his words and kind in all his works.”
And Psalm 103:17 adds: “But the steadfast love of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him, and his righteousness to children’s children.”
Do you see the picture? The blessings and mercy of God aren’t just for you. They flow forward into the next generation and the next one after that. Your faith today plants seeds for tomorrow.
When you pray over your kids, when you forgive someone instead of holding a grudge, when you worship even in hard times—you are shaping a legacy of faith. Someday, someone in your family line will look back and say, “God gave us all this.”
A Heartfelt Prayer
Maybe today you feel like you’re in the middle of a valley. Or maybe you’re standing on a mountaintop, looking back at how far God has brought you. Either way, the same prayer rises up:
Father, thank You for all this.
For mercy I didn’t earn. For blessings I can’t count.
For walking me through the darkest nights and into Your marvelous light.
Keep my heart grateful, my eyes on You, and my faith steady for the generations to come.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
God’s mercy, His blessings, His faithfulness—all this is the story of our lives as believers. Through every season, He gives, He sustains, He carries, and He redeems.
Take a moment today to look around, breathe deep, and whisper from your heart: “Thank You, Lord, for all this.”
May God always guide your path.
