Beth Jarvis Silliman – Serving others in personal transformation, community, and continual discovery.


Beth Jarvis Silliman is an ordained minister in the Independent Christian Church, recognized for her deep commitment to supporting and equipping ministers and faith communities. She currently serves as the Director of the Ministry Resource Center at Emmanuel Christian Seminary at Milligan University in Johnson City, Tennessee, where she provides ministers with placement services, mentorship, and opportunities for continuing education and retreats35. Her work centers on helping ministers thrive in their callings and fostering healthy, sustainable ministry environments.

Beth holds a Master of Divinity from Emmanuel Christian Seminary and is pursuing further studies in the Doctor of Ministry program at the same institution, reflecting her passion for lifelong learning and personal transformation in ministry. She earned her undergraduate degree in Bible/Biblical Studies from Point University.

Her ministry experience spans over 15 years and includes significant roles in campus ministry, non-profit organizations, and local churches. Notably, Beth was the founding team leader for the Globalscope campus ministry in Tübingen, Germany, where she led efforts to build vibrant Christian communities among university students abroad. She also served as a Care Team Coordinator with CMF International, further demonstrating her skills in pastoral care and leadership development.

Beth is a respected writer and speaker, having contributed articles and reviews to publications such as The Lookout, The Other Journal, and the Englewood Review of Books5. She is known for her thoughtful reflections on ministry, scripture, and the challenges of contemporary Christian leadership. In addition to her administrative and teaching roles, she regularly engages in supply preaching and is active in supporting ministers through transitions and ongoing growth.

Beth lives in Johnson City, Tennessee, with her husband, Daniel Silliman. Her approach to ministry emphasizes personal transformation, community, and continual discovery, both for herself and those she serves.
